Program Overview

The House (recreational) Program is designed for players in grades 4–8 and provides an inclusive, recreational basketball experience. The program offers a fun and competitive environment where players can continue to develop their basketball skills while enjoying the game. While we encourage all teams to compete hard and strive to win, our primary focus is on player development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and having fun.

Evaluations & Team Placement

All players participate in a preseason evaluation. These evaluations help us create balanced teams and maintain competitive parity within each division and grade level. All players who register by the registration deadline are guaranteed placement on a team.

Evaluations are typically held in late September or early October. Players are expected to attend one evaluation session. The evaluation schedule will be communicated by email several weeks in advance, and players will have the opportunity to select an evaluation time from available sessions held over two weekends.

Following the evaluations, division commissioners and coaches conduct a preseason draft using the evaluation results. The goal is to create evenly matched teams throughout each division. Because of this process, we cannot guarantee requests for specific coaches, teammates, or team placements.

Boys Divisions: Boys are placed into grade-level divisions based on their current school grade.

Girls Divisions: Girls divisions are determined based on registration numbers. When enrollment allows, teams will be organized by grade level. If registration numbers do not support separate grade-level divisions, adjacent grades may be combined to provide a positive, competitive, and developmentally appropriate experience for all participants.

Season & Schedule

The season runs from mid-November through mid-March. Each team practices one evening per week for 60 minutes. Practices are typically scheduled between 6:15 PM and 9:45 PM at local elementary and middle schools. Practice days and times are determined based on gym availability and each coach's availability. Earlier practice times are generally reserved for our Developmental and Elementary School programs.

Each team will participate in a preseason scrimmage during the opening weekend of the season, followed by a regular season schedule running from December through February, with a break during the winter holidays.

The season concludes with a single-elimination postseason tournament held in late February and early March.

Practice schedules are typically released on or around November 1, and game schedules are typically posted on or around November 15.
